What is Facial Rejuvenation?
Facial rejuvenation acupuncture, also known as cosmetic acupuncture or an acupuncture facelift is a
series of non-surgical, anti-aging treatments that revitalize your appearance.
It is a process based on the principles of traditional Chinese medicine that helps the whole
body look and feel younger. Acupuncture rejuvenation can erase five to fifteen years from the face
with results apparent after just a few treatments. What does Facial Rejuvenation do?
Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture helps to increase muscle tone and dermal contraction especially
in the face and neck. Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture has been shown to boost collagen production;
thus, helping to firm the skin and fill out wrinkles. Bags and sagging around the eyes and face can
be significantly reduced and toned. Metabolism is greatly improved through these treatments, resulting
in less puffiness. Acupuncture can aid in the regulation of hormones; therefore, easing conditions
like acne and dry skin. By increasing the circulation of blood, lymph, and energy to the head,
treatments enhance your complexion- bringing back your "natural glow." Stress and
habitual expressions which are so visible on the face are transformed resulting in a
younger, more peaceful, and less worn-looking face. In addition, many pre-existing health
conditions are improved because acupuncture works by treating the whole body and addressing the
underlying causes of aging and disease.A 1996 Report of the International Journal of Clinical
Acupuncture concluded that among 300 cases treated with facial acupuncture 90% had marked effects
with one course of treatment. The resulting effects included: a fairer and more delicate skin
texture, a more glowing complexion, an improvement in elasticity of the facial muscles, a leveling
of wrinkles and an overall sense of well-being.
How many treatments are needed?
Generally, twelve treatments are needed- each lasting one and a half hours.
The effects become more noticeable and lasting around the seventh session.
Although, a person's results may differ according to their lifestyle and initial level
of health prior to treatment. Following the initial course of treatments, intermittent
maintenance sessions are recommended to preserve the effects of facial acupuncture.
Chinese herbal formulations, facial massage, a healthy diet and stress management
will maximize the results of treatment.
